About the project

This project ( from September to October ) has a key date : the 26th of September.
It gathers Vocational High Schools around a European event.

It aims at celebrating together the European Day of Languages via :
- exchanges (through postcards, messages or videos)
- teamwork with the creation of a directory listing and presenting in an original way their activities and skills.
- researches to discover our neighbouring vocational high schools, their country and languages.
The main objectives of the project is to add value to professional formations and make students become aware of the diversity of European technical education.
It is also to motivate students from vocational high schools who most often do not see the aim of learning a foreign language.

AIMS

The project has 3 main objectives. The students should :
- acquire a European culture
- develop linguistic skills
- promote their professional skills and European VET

WORK PROCESS

Presentation of the schools and location

Elaboration of an exhibition on the European schools with monuments / flags/ geography - Photos or videos/ padlet to share the event.
A capsule video will advertise the 26/09 celebration with a slogan promoting the VET virtual meeting

The students send postcards :
Introduce themselves
Present the professional activity they like
Add in what way exchanging with a European country could be an advantage on a professional level in their mother tongue and in English.

The students send videos on their professional activities and interview their partners about their professional skills.
Posters on the different jobs / skills in several languages.

Exchange to organize a directory of the VET's
( bookcreator.com or ourboox.com)
The directory introduces each VET with:
word clouds on skills in Vocational High schools
professional activities
quizzes on different jobs with a  "Guess what job it is ?"
photos ( exhibitions, activities)

EXPECTED RESULTS

The students will learn to collaborate with the creation of the album and of the capsule videos
They will discover the diversity of European languages and the importance of learning a foreign language.
They will become conscious of the wide varieties of jobs.
They will be aware of the value of VET and the importance of learning.
